Cresson, PA - In their first home conference contest of the season, the Mount Aloysius men's soccer team had first-place Medaille on the ropes before losing 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Mounties and Mavericks played a physical, scoreless first half. Ten minutes into the second half, Michael Jackson scored for Medaille. However, Mount Aloysius responded as Winston Crozier knocked in a free kick from distance off of a Medaille defender to make it 1-1 in the 63rd minute.

In the 78th minute, Medaille's John Smith gave the visitors the lead once again as he knocked in a rebound attempt. The Mounties pressured late but couldn't find the equalizer.

Mount Aloysius returns to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to cross-town rival Penn State-Altoona.
