Mounties Season Comes to a Close in AMCC Semifinals

Box Score
Buffalo, NY - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer season came to an end with a 1-0 loss to #1 seed Medaille College on Wednesday evening.

The game came down to the wire, remaining scoreless through 84 minutes of play as both goalkeepers put on a clinic with impressive saves. While the Mavericks put the pressure on the Mounties from the start, they were unable to find the back of the net due to the efforts of Mount Aloysius goalkeeper James Antonopolos, who made a total of 11 saves through the course of the game.

Patrick Chea had the Mount's best chance of the night with over ten minutes to play. A corner kick was deflected to the top of the 18, and Chea struck a low volley into the bottom corner that was stopped by Medaille's Tyler Brew on the dive.

With six minutes remaining, Medaille scored off a cross. Despite putting pressure on the Mavericks in the closing moments, the Mounties couldn't find the tying goal.

Mount Aloysius concludes its season with a program-high 10 victories. The program reached the AMCC playoffs and semifinals for the first time in school history.
