Buffalo, NY - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team fell by a score of 71-58 in their first game of 2014 to Medaille College on Saturday afternoon in AMCC competition.

Becky Bard had a team-high 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Lindsy Sammarco chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals. The combo of Kaleigh Roop and Lauren Gross played well off the bench for the Mounties. The duo combined for 25 points and 13 rebounds.

The Mounties were hurt by a poor shooting day from the field, as they shot just 25-for-76 (32.9%) from the field. The host Mavericks shot an efficient 50.9% from the field on their way to the win.

The Mount returns to action on Wednesday when they host Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.
