Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team edged visiting Pitt-Bradford by a score of 2-1 in AMCC action on Saturday afternoon on their home field.
The Mounties, who were missing four starters, received contributions throughout the lineup and two goals from striker
Kevin Ouellette to earn the win.
Ouellette got the Mounties off to a strong start as he received a through ball from
Patrick Chea and chipped the charging Bradford keeper to give Mount Aloysius a 1-0 lead at the 17:45 mark of the first half. The Mounties kept pressing as
Winston Crozier hit the crossbar off of a free kick from 25 yards out midway through the half. With two minutes to play in the session,
Graham Hunter hit the post. Mount Aloysius entered the half holding the 1-0 advantage.
Bradford responded in the 58th minute as Bobby Sorokas caught the Mountie defense off guard with a strike from deep to tie the game at 1-1. Mount Aloysius responded five minutes later when
Graham Hunter sent in a cross to the foot of Ouellette, and he placed a shot off the inside of the post and in to make it a 2-1 game.
The Mountie defense stymied Bradford down the stretch on their way to the victory.
Justin Hann made three saves to earn his seventh win of the season in net.
Mount Aloysius returns to the field on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. home matchup against La Roche.
