Box Score Cresson, PA - Four goals in a 15-minute span in the beginning of the second half carried the Mount Aloysius men's soccer team past Hilbert by a score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.
After a scoreless first half in which the Mounties generated seven shots and a number of opportunities, the home side scored just over three minutes into the second half when
Patrick Chea got to the end of a
Jim Smith header in the box to create a 1-0 advantage. Eight minutes later,
Kevin Ouellette headed home a
Winston Crozier free kick from the corner area to make it a 2-0 game.
Crozier then scored two goals in the 59th minute and 63rd minute on free kick opportunties. His first kick was misplayed by Hilbert's keeper and found the back of the net. His second goal was a hard shot from 25 yards out that found the bottom corner to give Mount Aloysius a 4-0 lead.
Justin Hann and the Mountie backline held strong to record their second shutout of the season. Hann recorded three saves in the victory. Offensively,
Graham Hunter led the Mount in shots with five, while Crozier and Chea each registered three shots on the day.
The Mounties improve to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play heading into a Wednesday matchup with Pitt-Greensburg, who are also 2-1 in the conference standings. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
