Men's Soccer Draws with Greensburg

Box Score
Greensburg, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team tied Pitt-Greensburg 1-1 in AMCC action on Wednesday afternoon on the road.

The Mounties got off to a quick start as Kevin Ouellette headed home a cross from Jim Smith. The Mounties generated a number of opportunities throughout the first half off of the play of Smith and Patrick Chea, but were unable to capitalize and took a 1-0 advantage heading into the halftime break.

Greensburg evened the score in the 56th minute when a Carmene Albano shot from outside of the box found the back of the net after the two sides were both playing a man down due to two red cards.

Though both sides generated opportunities, the teams were deadlocked at 1-1 heading into the overtime session. Winston Crozier got the Mounties best overtime chance in the 102nd minute, but his shot sailed high. Greensburg nearly won it in the 106th minute on a shot from Jeremy Niemiec, but the Mount's Justin Hann made an extended fingertip save to push the shot over the bar.

Chea and Graham Hunter each recorded three shots for Mount Aloysius. Hann notched three saves.

The Mounties return to action this Saturday with a home contest against Pitt-Bradford set for 3 p.m.
