Box Score 2 Carlisle, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team picked up its first victory of the season with a 67-46 win over The City College of New York on Sunday afternoon, a day after dropping their opening contest 70-53 to Lycoming College. Both games were a part of the Dickinson College Tournament.
Abby Kulick was named to the All-Tournament team after posting double figures in both games. Against Lycoming, she registered 12 points and six rebounds. In the victory over CCNY, she recorded 11 points, four rebounds and four assists to help lead the Mounties to victory.
Sydney Horel had a solid game in the loss to Lycoming with 11 points, while
Haley Bender exploded for 18 points on the strength of a 4-for-7 showing from behind the three-point arc in the win over CCNY.
Kaleigh Roop also made major contributions to the win with eight points and seven boards.
In the win over CCNY, the Mounties raced out to a 36-22 halftime lead and never looked back. Defensively, they limited the opponent to a 23.1% field goal percentage.
The Mounties return to action on December 3rd with their home opener and opening AMCC matchup of the season against Franciscan University.
