Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team defeated visiting Chatham by a final score of 69-59 in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

Abbie Zinobile led the Mounties with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Also finishing in double figures for Mount Aloysius was transfer Alexia Servello, who scored 11 points in her second game in a Mountie uniform. Alexis Restori dished five assists and registered two steals, while Kaleigh Roop notched nine points and six boards.

Mount Aloysius led by two at halftime at 29-27 after a close first half in which neither side held a lead of more than six points. The game stayed close throughout the second half as the two teams were tied 46-46 after a Roop layup with 5:17 to go in the second half. The Mounties then took the game with a 9-0 run capped by an Abby Kulick foul shot with 1:15 to go. Mount Aloysius held the lead for the final minute to improve their overall record to 4-3.

While both sides were close in the shooting department, the Mounties outrebounded the visitors 52-36.

Mount Aloysius returns to action after the New Year on January 3rd at the Marywood University Tournament. They will play Keystone College to open up the tournament.
