Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team won their eighth consecutive game with a 69-64 victory over Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon in AMCC play on the road.

Becky Bard paced the Mounties with 17 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Lindsy Sammarco also finished in double figures with 11 points to go with six boards, four assists and three steals. Abbie Zinobile (four rebounds) and Ali Maruca (four assists) both had strong showings off the bench with nine points apiece.

The Mounties used a 13-2 run capped by two Sammarco free throws to take a 40-22 halftime lead. Behrend gradually chipped away and cut the deficit to as little as three points with 1:25 left in the game. The Mount kept the lead and Sammarco and Bard hit 9-of-10 free throw attempts in the game's closing moments to ensure the win.

As a team, Mount Aloysius shot 20-for-23 from the line and outrebounded Behrend 49 to 31.

The Mounties improve to 11-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play.
