Box Score Frostburg, MD - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team fell to Frostburg State by a score of 85-53 in non-conference action on Monday evening.
Becky Bard led the Mount offensively with 20 points while adding four rebounds.
Morgan Brosnihan came close to double figures with nine points, and
Kaleigh Roop mixed six points and four boards. Off the bench,
Lauren Gross and
Jamie Snedden both registered seven rebounds.
The Mounties held a 15-11 lead at the 14:07 mark in the first half on a jumper from Bard, and things were tied up at 20-20 with 10:30 to go before Frostburg took command late in the half. The Mounties found themselves down 42-27 at the break. Frostburg gradually expanded on their halftime lead in the second period of play to take the victory.
The Mount shot just 17-for-76 (22.4 percent) in the loss. They did have a strong showing at the free throw line, going 14-for-16 for the night.
Mount Aloysius returns to conference play with a Wednesday night match at home against crosstown rival Penn State Altoona. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. following the men's game at 6 p.m.
