Pittsburgh, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team advanced to the championship game of the AMCC tournament for the first time in program history with a 62-57 victory over Medaille on Friday evening.

The Mounties will face top-seeded La Roche tomorrow at 3 pm at La Roche.

In her first extended action since February 6th, Lindsy Sammarco scored 20 points, including 5-for-10 from three-point range, and added seven rebounds. Becky Bard registered a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Olivia Rupp was in double figures with 10 points. Ali Maruca added eight points, nine assists, six boards and three steals.

A back-and-forth first half ended with an Abbie Zinobile layup that gave the Mount a 29-26 lead heading into the break. The Mounties went on a 12-0 run to start the second half and never looked back as they held off the Mavericks down the stretch.

The Mounties hit 11-of-27 shots from behind the arc for the game.
