Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team had their eight-game winning streak broken by La Roche on Thursday evening, as the host Redhawks defeated the Mounties by a score of 78-43 in AMCC action.
Lindsy Sammarco and
Becky Bard each scored nine points for the Mount, while
Jamie Snedden had a strong game off the bench with 8 points on 4-for-5 shooting and added seven rebounds.
The first five plus minutes went back and forth as Sammarco drained a three-point shot with 14:34 remaining to make it a 10-8 game in favor of La Roche. However, the Redhawks gradually gained control as they went on a 20-4 run to take a commanding 44-21 lead into the half.
The Mounties got no closer in the second half as they shot just 10-for-36 from the field in the second period of play.
Mount Aloysius drops to 11-8 overall and 9-4 in conference with the loss. They now stand in third place in the standings, two games back of La Roche and Medaille and one game ahead of Pitt-Bradford and Pitt-Greensburg.
