Baseball Splits a Pair Against Keuka

Johnstown, PA - The Mount Aloysius baseball team returned from their Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach and split a doubleheader with Keuka College at Point Stadium in Johnstown. After winning the first game 7-3, the Mounties fell in game two 8-7.

In game one, Daniel Resavy got the call on the mound for the Mounties and threw an effective six innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs to keep the visitors at bay. Brady Wright threw a scoreless inning to close out the game. Offensively, the Mounties put up six runs in the first inning highlighted by a triple from Bryn Brown and an RBI single from Connor Bowie. With the score at 6-3 in the third inning, Bowie ripped a triple to bring in Brock Gladfelter to make it a 7-3 game.

In game one, Bowie went 3-for-4 with two RBI's to lead the Mount, while Benjamin Legath and Jared Elliot each added two hits.

The Mounties again established control in game two as they jumped out to a 7-3 lead after six innings of play. Keuka responded with a five-run seventh inning. The Mounties put two runners on base in the bottom of the seventh with two outs but couldn't find the final hit.

In game two, Brown went 3-for-4 with two RBI's while Dylan Oswalt recorded a 2-for-4 showing with four RBI's. Legath and Bowie continued their hot hitting as both added two hits. On the mound, Rodney Patterson threw three scoreless innings in relief.

The Mounties now stand at 4-7 overall and return to action on Wednesday for a doubleheader on the road against St. Vincent College.
