Box Score Stevenson, MD - The Mount Aloysius baseball team used an effective pitching performance from
Daniel Resavy and a 4-for-4 performance at the plate from
Benjamin Legath to defeat Stevenson 9-2 in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon on the road.
On the mound, Resavy allowed just five hits and one run in seven innings to earn the win, and
Rodney Patterson kept the Mustangs at bay in the final two innings. Both pitchers gave up one unearned run.
Legath got the Mountie offense rolling out of the gate with an RBI single in the top of the first that scored
Connor Bowie. After Mount Aloysius put up three runs in the third inning, the lead was expanded to 6-0 in the top of the fifth as Bowie clubbed an RBI double and Legath followed with an RBI triple to right center.
With the score of 7-0, Legath completed his offensive outburst with a single to center field that brought home
Bryn Brown.
Patrick Gully followed with an RBI single to complete the Mountie scoring and give the visitors a 9-0 advantage.
Bowie recorded two hits and three runs scored for the Mount, while
Ian Helsel scored three times and Brown added two hits, two runs and one RBI.
Mount Aloysius improves to 10-11 on the season, as the Mounties have won six of their last seven contests. They return to action tomorrow with a trip to Juniata for a non-conference doubleheader.
