Box Score Reading, PA - Despite a solid defensive performance for much of the contest, the Mount Aloysius College men's soccer team gave up two late goals to Albright College as the Mounties fell 2-0 on the road in non-conference action on Saturday evening.
The Mounties came out strong to start the game, and
Kevin Ouellette and
Patrick Chea both had shots on goal early against the Albright defense. Albright's Vitali Zaluha hit the crossbar on a free kick from 20 yards out midway through the first half, and the Mount's
John Ouellette also hit the crossbar on a deep free kick minutes later.
With the score tied at 0-0 nearly 80 minutes in, Albright broke the deadlock with 10:42 to go in the game. The Mounties pushed bodies forward and Chea had a chance on the break that was stopped by Albright keeper Austin Aldinger. Albright increased the advantage to 2-0 on a counterattack with five minutes to play.
Justin Hann stopped five shots in net for the Mount, while Chea and
Kevin Ouellette each registered three shots on the offensive end.
Mount Aloysius returns to action on Wednesday with a trip to Rosemont College for a 5 p.m. non-conference matchup.
