Men's Soccer Drops Hard Fought Contest

Box Score
Middletown, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team dropped a hard fought contest by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night against Penn State-Harrisburg in non-conference action on the road.

The Mounties came out flat in the first half, and Harrisburg made them pay as the half came to a close when Matthew Vaz struck for a goal from outside of the 18-yard box.

Mount Aloysius picked up the pace in the second period of play, and the Mounties were rewarded when Kevin Ouellette headed home a long throw after Xavier Cardona won the initial header above two defenders. Ouellette's goal at the 57:50 mark tied the score up at 1-1.

The back-and-forth battle continued until Harrisburg won a loose ball scramble in the box following a cross, and deposited their second goal to once again take the one-goal advantage. The host team added an insurance goal with just over six minutes to play after the Mounties pushed defenders up in the attack.

Justin Hann registered four saves in the defeat.

The Mounties will look to get back on track Friday when they play host to visiting Valley Forge Christian College for a 4 p.m. matchup.
