Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team was defeated 58-46 at home by Pitt-Bradford on Sunday afternoon in AMCC action.
Abbie Zinobile and
Abby Kulick each finished with double-double efforts for the Mounties. Zinobile had 17 points and 16 rebounds, while Kulick registered 16 points to go with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Alexis Restori recorded three assists, and
Olivia Rupp added four points and seven rebounds.
The game was very close throughout the first half as Zinobile kept the Mounties in the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the opening 20 minutes. Bradford closed the half on a 6-2 run to take a six-point lead into the half. In the second half, Bradford extended the lead to 12 points with 10 minutes remaining in the game. The Mounties cut the deficit to four points at 47-43 with 4:23 to play on a Kulick layup, but couldn't get any closer down the stretch.
The Mounties struggled from the field as they shot just 18-for-61 (29.5%) for the game. Mount Aloysius held a significant advantage in the rebounding department as they outrebounded the visitors 56-36, including grabbing 19 boards on the offensive end.
Mount Aloysius falls to 6-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play. They return to the court next Saturday when they will travel to Penn State Behrend for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
