Behrend Uses Strong First Half to Edge Mounties

Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team found themselves down 10 points at halftime and couldn't recover in a 75-66 defeat by Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon on the road in AMCC action.

The Mounties were led offensively by the duo of Dillon Bender and Arin Wade, who each contributed 16 points for Mount Aloysius. Tanner Thomas recorded 12 points and six rebounds, and Nolan Doyle also finished in double figures with 11 points and three assists.

Behrend's Zane Hackett was the main difference in the game for the Lions, as he scored 21 points on an efficient 10-for-12 shooting effort from the floor. Nick Delisio, Malquan Pullium and Wes Davic all registered 11 points for the Lions.

While the Mounties held the edge in three-point shooting with a 7-for-16 display compared to 5-for-18 for the Lions, Behrend had a significant advantage in free throws made as the home side went 14-for-21 at the charity stripe while Mount Aloysius went 5-for-7. The two teams were close to even in shooting percentage and rebounding for the ballgame.

Mount Aloysius falls to 6-9 overall and 4-4 in AMCC play heading into a Monday night home contest against Pitt-Greensburg slated to begin at 8 p.m.
