Box Score Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team lost to Penn State Behrend 71-61 on the road in AMCC play on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Mounties fall to 3-5 in conference play and 6-7 overall.
Abby Kulick and
Olivia Rupp led the Mounties on the offensive end of the floor. Kulick finished with a team-high 13 points while dishing three assists, and Rupp used a 3-for-6 showing from behind the three-point arc to register 12 points.
Sydney Horel and
Abbie Zinobile each recorded eight points on the inside for the Mounties.
Behrend was paced by the stellar play of Ally Burke, who scored 30 points on 11-for-19 shooting from the field. Fontaine Glenn was next in line for the Lions with 17 points.
For one of the first times this season, the Mounties were outrebounded by the host Lions. Behrend held a 48-32 rebounding advantage and notched 19 offensive rebounds against Mount Aloysius. On the defensive end, the Mounties forced Behrend into 18 turnovers.
Morgan Brosnihan and
Kara Cordell led the way with two steals apiece.
The Mounties will have a quick turnaround as they are back on the court on Monday evening when they will play host to Pitt-Greensburg at 6 p.m.
