Box Score Cresson, PA - Pitt-Greensburg's Kayla Dames hit a layup at the buzzer off of an inbounds play to give the visiting Bobcats a 53-52 victory over the Mount Aloysius women's basketball team on Monday evening in AMCC action.
With 1:48 remaining in the ballgame, the Mount's
Olivia Rupp drilled a three-point shot to tie the game at 51-51. The two teams would trade empty possessions until
Abby Kulick gave the Mounties a 52-51 advantage with 15 seconds left to play. After Greensburg called timeout with 1.1 seconds remaining, Dames hit the layup off of a backdoor cut to win it.
Kulick had a strong all-around game for the Mounties with 15 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Abbie Zinobile also finished with a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks, and Rupp registered 11 points and nine boards.
Alexis Restori finished in double figures with 10 points on the strength of an 8-for-9 showing at the free throw line.
The two teams were tied at 20-20 at halftime. After the Mounties jumped out to a 19-9 lead, the Bobcats gradually chipped away to tie the game heading into the break. Greensburg led by as much as eight points in the second half before the Mounties tied the game at 41-41 with just over four minutes to play heading into the game's final stretch.
Greensburg was paced by Emily Nelson's 21 points. Dames finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.
The Mounties are back in action Wednesday with a road trip to Franciscan University with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
