Box Score Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team continued their historic season with a 2-1 overtime victory over conference power Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.
The win gives the Mounties the AMCC regular season championship, a first in school history for a men's sports program at Mount Aloysius. In just three years, the men's soccer program went from a last-place finish in the conference standings to a #1 finish. It was also the first time the men's soccer program defeated Behrend, and the victory marked just the second time this season that Behrend has been defeated.
The Mounties fell behind 1-0 early in the second half before embarking on a comeback that started with a
Patrick Chea goal on a feed from
Todd Azeles in the 76
th minute of play. Azeles hit a free kick from near midfield that Chea headed home to tie up the game. The two sides battled into overtime until
Kevin Ouellette headed in the golden goal on a cross from Chea five minutes into the first overtime.
"I'm extremely proud of the character of our men. We went down against a terrific Behrend side and just continued to play our game. We capitalized on our opportunities in the end," Head Coach

Justin Hann was fantastic in net for the Mounties as he stopped eight shots, including two breakaway attempts.
The Mounties have clinched the #1 seed in the upcoming AMCC Tournament and will host a playoff semifinal on November 4
th. Their final regular season match will be on Tuesday evening at Penn State Altoona as the Mounties will look to complete an undefeated regular season in the AMCC.
