Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team surged past visiting Pitt-Greensburg by a final score of 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon in AMCC play.
Five different Mount Aloysius players netted goals, led by two goals from
Kyle Marshall. The Mounties scored two goals in the first nine minutes as Marshall scored off of a
Diron Duah pass at the 6:50 mark, and
Thomas Sloan scored less than two minutes later after beating two defenders off the dribble and slotting in a shot to the back of the net.
The Mounties continued to put the pressure on and expanded their advantage to 3-0 after
Kevin Ouellette scored his sixth goal of the season after a through ball from
Jim Smith in the 19th minute of play.
Pitt-Greensburg got a goal back in the 36th minute on a header off of a corner kick, but Mount Aloysius responded a minute and a half later when a Marshall deflected shot found the back of the goal.
Mount Aloysius held the 4-1 lead late into the second half. In the 76th minute,
Zachary Herr scored his first collegiate goal after stealing the ball off of a Bobcat defender and beating the keeper in a one-on-one. The Mounties concluded their scoring when senior
Charlie Old struck for his first collegiate goal on a feed from
Jalen Terry in the 81st minute.
Justin Hann earned his sixth win in net as he stopped two shots in 81 minutes of action.
Kyle Lachance played the final nine minutes in net for the Mounties.
Mount Aloysius improves to 7-4-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The team returns to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Pitt-Bradford.
