Box Score Steubenville, OH - The Lady Mounties Volleyball team took on AMCC conference rival Franciscan for the second time in one week for the first round of the AMCC playoffs. One week earlier the Lady Mounties beat the Barons at home 3-1.
At the end of the regular season the AMCC teams were all tied up for the playoff rankings. Medaille and Penn State Altoona were tied at 7-2 for the one and two spot. Then there was a four way tie for third through sixth place between the Mounties, Franciscan, Penn State Behrend and La Roche (6-3). With the tie breaker criteria it pushed the Mounties to sixth place which made them have to play at Franciscan for the first round.
The Lady Mounties battled hard in a tough environment, but fell short losing 3-0.
Lindsey Mercer led the Mounties with 11 kills and 12 digs.
Jordan DeMasi and
Katie Reed each dished out 15 assists.
Brenna Wright led the defense with 21 digs.
The Lady Mounties finished their season at 12-12 and have had many players reach career milestones this season.
Megan Ruddock is the only senior to graduate and has had a stellar career for Mount Aloysius College.
