Balanced Attack Leads Mounties to Win against Mavericks

Cresson, PA - Four players finished in double figures and nine hit the scoreboard as the Mount Aloysius women's basketball team defeated visiting Medaille College by a final score of 72-60 on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.

Breana Kendrick led the Mounties with 17 points off the bench. Antwayne' Parks (13), Alexia Servello (12) and Abby Kulick (10) also finished in double figures for Mount Aloysius. The Mounties had a strong advantage in the rebounding department as Abbie Zinobile recorded 10 rebounds, and Parks and Kaleigh Roop each registered eight boards.

The two sides had a tight affair throughout as the Mounties led 18-15 after one quarter and 26-21 at the half. After holding a six-point lead after three quarters, Mount Aloysius scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter. Kendrick hit a layup, Kulick followed with a layup on the next possession, and Kendrick nailed a three-point shot to cap the run. 

The Mountie advantaged ballooned all the way to 21 points at 63-42 with 3:39 remaining in the game as the Mounties improve to 3-1 in conference play and 4-4 overall with the victory.

Mount Aloysius returns to the court on Tuesday with a non-conference game at home against Bethany College at 6 p.m.
