Chargers Race Past Mounties in Non-Conference Action

Lancaster, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team couldn't keep up with the offense of Lancaster Bible College and fell by a final score of 99-56 on Friday evening in non-conference action on the road.

The host Chargers raced out to a lead of 11-0 before the Mounties fought back to cut the deficit to 15-12 after Dillon Bender hit a layup with 11:51 remaining in the first half. The game was still close at 23-16 in favor of LBC with 8:33 remaining, until the Chargers embarked on a 19-0 run over the next seven minutes of play to seize a 42-16 advantage. LBC went into halftime holding a 47-17 lead.

In the second half, Mount Aloysius couldn't get any closer than 26 points as Lancaster Bible stayed undefeated at 8-0 while the Mounties dropped to 4-6 overall on the season.

Arin Wade led the Mounties with 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field. Dillon Bender and Darell Lamberth each registered nine points, and Tre Brown dished three assists.

The Mounties were hurt by 27 turnovers, and the Charges also held a 49-30 advantage in the rebounding department.

Mount Aloysius returns to action on December 30th with a home non-conference matchup against Drew University at 6 p.m.
