Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team dropped a conference contest by a final score of 91-75 on Wednesday on the road to La Roche.
The Mounties had a strong start and stayed even with the Redhawks throughout much of the first half. Mount Aloysius led 25-21 with 9:21 remaining in the half after
Chad Eisenhuth converted a layup plus a free throw after being fouled. The game was tied at 31-31 after
Joe Dziabo scored a basket with 6:58 to go, and Eisenhuth kept it close with another bucket at the 3:21 mark that made it 41-40 in favor of La Roche. The Redhawks seized control with a 10-0 run to end the half as the home side took a 51-40 advantage into the break.
The Redhawks expanded their lead to 19 points with 12:02 left in the game. The Mounties got as close as 12 points down the stretch but couldn't complete the comeback.
Dillon Bender scored 18 points and
Arin Wade added 17 points to lead Mount Aloysius on the offensive end. Bender added four steals defensively, and
Jourdan Lamberth registered 10 points off the bench.
The Mounties were hurt on the glass as the Redhawks outrebounded the visitors by a 46-21 margin.
Mount Aloysius returns to action on Saturday with their first home conference game of the season. The Mounties will tipoff against Medaille at 1 p.m.
