Box Score Bradford, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team concluded its season with a 82-49 defeat at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action. With the Mountie loss and Franciscan's victory 52-39 victory over D'Youville, Mount Aloysius is eliminated from playoff contention. The Mounties finish conference play with a record of 7-11 while finishing the season with an overall record of 10-14.
The Mounties jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the opening two minutes capped by an
Abbie Zinobile layup. Bradford responded and eventually led 15-13 with 11:50 to play before going on a 14-4 run to take a 29-17 advantage with 4:45 to go in the first half. The host Panthers continued to extend their advantage and led 42-21 at the half. Pitt-Bradford continued to extend their lead throughout the second half on their way to the conference victory.
Seniors
Alexis Restori,
Morgan Brosnihan,
Olivia Rupp and
Lauren Gross played in their final games on Saturday. Restori scored eight points, and Brosnihan registered three assists. Rupp tied for a team-high with six rebounds, while Gross had four points and three rebounds off the bench.
Abbie Zinobile scored a team-high 12 points for the Mounties.
Mount Aloysius struggled in the shooting department as they registered a 17-for-63 (27%) showing from the field. Bradford shot 33-for-61 (54.1%) from the floor.
Restori, Brosnihan, Rupp and Gross conclude their careers with three playoff appearances, three AMCC playoff semifinal appearances and an AMCC Tournament runner-up finish in 2013-2014. The four seniors compiled 59 wins in their four seasons on the hardword for Mount Aloysius.
