Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius baseball team had another player pick up a summer honor as rising senior
Ian Helsel was named the MVP of the Johnstown All American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) League as a member of the Martella's Pharmacy team.

Connor Bowie's selection to the NY Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game two weeks ago.Â
Helsel hit .388 with 12 doubles, two triples and three home runs for Martella's. He scored 30 runs over the course of the 32-game regular season and also notched 25 RBI's while registering an on-base percentage of .450 for the during regular season play.Â
Helsel becomes the fifth player in franchise history to win the award. He helped lead his team to a regular season record of 27-5, which was the best in the league.
A Johnstown native, Helsel was an AMCC All-Conference selection this past spring after leading the Mounties with nine doubles and finishing second on the team with 43 hits, 31 runs scored and three home runs.
