Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team had regional power Hiram College tied 2-2 through 66 minutes before conceding three goals late in a 5-2 loss on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Nearly 15 minutes into the second half, the Mounties
Kevin Ouellette took a well-placed through ball from
Molia Sesay and beat the keeper before finishing off his third goal of the season to tie the game at 2-2. The visiting Terriers would respond with two goals in a span of three minutes to take a 4-2 lead, and would cap the scoring in the 79th minute with a penalty kick goal.
Mount Aloysius came out strong early on and were rewarded in the 14th minute when
Michael Clendenin headed home a cross from Sesay to give the home side a 1-0 advantage. The Mounties kept the lead until the 37th minute when Hiram scored on a shot from the top of the box, and the two sides went into halftime tied at 1-1.
Jim Smith, Ouellette and Sesay each registered two shots to pace the Mountie attack. Goalkeeper
Justin Hann notched six saves in net.
Mount Aloysius falls to 1-3-1 overall on the season. The Mounties are back in action Saturday when they will play host to Thiel College. The match is set to begin at noon.
