Men's Soccer Loses Tight Battle to Warriors

Box Score
Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team dropped a tough 2-0 decision to the visiting Lycoming College Warriors in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

The Mounties had a strong first half performance defensively as they limited the Warriors, who had scored 11 goals in their past two games, to just four shots in the first 45 minutes. Mount Aloysius fell victim to a loose ball finish by a Warrior player just 47 seconds into the second half, but once again regained form on the defensive end.

Mount Aloysius was forced to play the final 25 minutes of the game down two men, but allowed just one goal over that span.

Justin Hann registered five saves in net for the Mounties. Offensively, Thomas Sloan had two shots. The Mounties best chance came in the first half as Kevin Ouellette struck a shot off the crossbar after a loose ball came off of a Mountie corner kick.

The Mounties fall to 2-4-1 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday when they host Wilson College for their final non-conference contest before conference play begins on Saturday. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
