Box Score Waynesburg, PA - The Lady Mounties volleyball team pulled off a close win in a five-set battle against Waynesburg University. After coming off to a slow start and losing set one 25-10, the Lady Mounties fought hard and won set two 25-21. Set three was head to head until Waynesburg took a late lead and pulled ahead and won 25-19. The Lady Mounties bounced back and took set four and five with scores of 25-22 and 15-11.
The Lady Mounties offense was led by a strong performance by middle hitter
Kristin Miles who had 16 kills. Outside hitter,
Elizabeth Yacobucci chipped in 11 kills.
Katie Reed dished out 22 assists and
Jordan DeMasi had 19.
Brenna Wright led the defense with 19 digs and
Alyssa Walters was right behind her with 15 digs.
Lindsey Mercer had a solid match with nine kills and 15 digs.
Saturday, September 26th the Lady Mounties head to Pitt-Bradford where they take on conference rivals Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Behrend in their conference opening weekend.
