Box Score Cresson, PA -
Kevin Ouellette scored two goals to lead the Mount Aloysius men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory in their home opener against Albright College on Sunday afternoon.
Ouellette scored his two goals one minute apart in the 56th and 57th minute to expand the Mountie lead to 3-0. He scored on a rebound off of a Mountie free kick, and a minute later broke through the defense and tapped a through ball from
Jim Smith past the charging goalkeeper.
The Mounties then had to withstand a comeback attempt from the visiting Lions, who scored in the 75th and 80th minute to make it a 3-2 game. Albright nearly tied it with just under three minutes left on the clock after a shot hit the crossbar, but the Mounties collected the rebound and held on for the victory.
Ricky Abbs got Mount Aloysius off to a quick start when he headed home a corner kick from Smith three and a half minutes into the game.
Ouellette led the Mounties with three shots, while
Patrick Chea registered two shots.
Justin Hann recorded five saves to earn his first victory of the season in goal.
Mount Aloysius returns to the field on Wednesday with a match at Bethany College at 7:30 p.m.
