Box Score Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team forced 21 turnovers on their way to a 82-65 conference victory over visiting Franciscan on Thursday evening.
Tre Brown led the way with three steals on the defensive end, and
Shaire Tolson-Ford recorded two steals of his own. Offensively, 12 different Mountie players hit the scoreboard paced by 17 points from
Dillon Bender.
The two teams were even early on until a 10-3 Mountie run capped by a Bender layup handed the Mounties a 23-13 advantage with 6:11 to play in the opening half. Mount Aloysius grew its lead to as high as 14 points before taking a 34-25 advantage into halftime. The Mounties kept the lead hovering around double digits throughout much of the second half. Holding a 61-52 advantage with 9:24 on the clock, the Mounties struck for 10 consecutive points over a two and a half minute span to lead 71-52 with 6:54 showing on the scoreboard on their way to the win.
Chad Eisenhuth (15 points),
Joe Dziabo (13Â points, eight rebounds) and
Darryl Sanders (10 points) joined Bender in double figures. Brown added six assists and five rebounds to his three steals.
Mount Aloysius improves to 6-11 overall and 3-7 in conference play and will be back on their home floor on Saturday when they will host Hilbert at 1 p.m.Â
