Mountie Offense Struggles in Loss to Hilbert

Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team had a tough time getting anything going on the offensive end as the Mounties fell to visiting Hilbert College by a final score of 58-38 on Sunday afternoon in AMCC competition.

The Mounties only managed to shoot 13-for-66 (19.7 percent) from the field and 7-for-14 (50 percent) from the free throw line as Hilbert controlled the middle portion of the ballgame on their way to the win. Mount Aloysius led 7-5 after one quarter before the Hawks exploded for 22 points in the second quarter to lead 27-17 at halftime. Hilbert continued their momentum in the third quarter and increased their advantage to 40-22 with 2:49 remaining in the period before a Kara Cordell layup cut the lead to 16 points heading into the final quarter. Mount Aloysius couldn't get any closer in the fourth as the Hawks stayed in control.

Antwayne' Parks led the Mounties offensively with 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field and a 3-for-4 performance from behind the arc. Hannah Drenning recorded eight points and five rebounds off the bench, while Abby Kulick hustled for seven rebounds and four steals on the defensive end. Point guard Alexia Servello mixed six points, three assists and three boards.

Hilbert was paced by double-double efforts from Shannon Rogers (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Katelyn Proy (10 points, 11 rebounds).

Mount Aloysius drops to 9-9 overall and 6-5 in conference play and will return to the hardwood on Wednesday evening at home for a 8 p.m. tipoff against La Roche.
