Buffalo, NY - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team made a strong push in the second half but couldn't complete the comeback attempt as the Mounties lost 83-80 to Medaille on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action on the road.

The host Mavericks built a 10-point first half lead as Medaille took a 41-31 advantage into the halftime break. Medaille pushed their lead all the way up to 16 points at 55-39 with 12:36 to play before the Mounties stormed back. Mount Aloysius cut the deficit down to 68-60 with 5:46 to go on a Brian Reams layup, and a three-point shot from Chad Eisenhuth made it a 74-68 game with three minutes left on the clock.

After the Mavericks built the lead back up to nine points, Dillon Bender and Eisenhuth hit three-point shots on back-to-back possessions to make it 81-78 in favor of Medaille with one minute left in the game. A layup from Arin Wade with 42 seconds to play made it 82-80, and after a Medaille missed jumper the Mounties had a chance for the win but a Bender three-point shot with six seconds left missed the mark and Medaille escaped with the victory.
