Graham Hunter netted a hat trick as the Mount Aloysius men's soccer team defeated visiting Hilbert by a final margin of 5-1 on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.
Hunter scored the final three goals of the game for Mount Aloysius. In the 25th minute, he found a through ball and struck a low, hard shot into the far corner of the goal to increase the Mountie lead to 3-0. He added two goals late the game less than a minute apart. In the 86th minute, he got behind the defense for his second goal of the game and then completed his hat trick with a volley from the edge of the box with less than three minutes remaining.
Joshua Devlin got Mount Aloysius on the board in the 14th minute as he flicked in a goal off of a long throw. Eight minutes later,
Thomas Sloan lasered in a free kick from the top of the box to make it a 2-0 game.
Hilbert prevented the shutout as the Hawks scored with less than one minute to play in the contest.
The Mounties outshot the Hawks 17-5 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kick opportunities. Hunter led the way with four shots, while Devlin added three.
The Mounties return to the field on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. match at Pitt-Greensburg.
