Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team dominated from start to finish in an 87-69 victory over Frostburg State on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.
The host Mounties expanded on a 20-14 first quarter advantage with the first 15 points of the second quarter to take a commanding 35-14 lead with 5:51 to play before halftime. Mount Aloysius increased its lead to 44-18 with a jumper from
Alexia Servello with 1:27 to go, and the Mounties took a 46-24 lead into the halftime break. The Bobcats wouldn't get any closer than 16 points in the second half as the Mounties cruised to the victory.Â
Jessa Wright paced the Mounties with 20 points, including a 5-for-7 showing from behind the arc.
Abby Kulick and
Antwanye' Parks each contributed 16 points, and Servello was also in double figures with 14 points. Kulick added a team-high seven rebounds, and
Katie Bracken dished five assists.Â
The Mounties forced 20 Frostburg turnovers with
Kacie Baker leading the way with three steals.
Mount Aloysius returns to the court on Saturday with a trip to Capital University for a 2 p.m. tipoff.Â
