Women's Basketball Drops Contest to Panthers

Loretto, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team was defeated by a final score of 78-68 on Saturday evening against Pitt-Bradford in conference action in a game played at St. Francis University.

Mount Aloysius was all over Pitt-Bradford early on while scoring the first 13 points of the contest. The Panthers chipped away and Mount Aloysius held a 21-15 lead after one quarter of play. The Mounties led 29-18 before the Panthers embarked on a 12-0 run to take a 30-29 advantage, and Pitt-Bradford used their momentum to take a 40-34 lead into halftime.

The two sides traded baskets to start the second half and the Mounties regained the lead at 48-47 on a three-point shot from Breana Kendrick. However, the Panthers went on a 12-1 run to end the quarter and took a 59-49 lead into the final period. The Mounties got no closer than seven points in the final 10 minutes of play.

Jessa Wright led the Mounties with 24 points and 15 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. Alexia Servello finished in double figures with 11 points, while Katie Bracken had nine points and nine rebounds. Abby Kulick notched nine assists and five boards. 

Mount Aloysius falls to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in conference action and will take a break before returning to the court on December 31st in a non-conference matchup against Chatham.
