Box Score Altoona, PA - After a strong first quarter, the Mount Aloysius women's basketball team struggled on the offensive end as the Mounties lost 57-50 to Penn State Altoona on Wednesday evening in AMCC action on the road.

Abby Kulick to give the visitors a 18-8 lead with 1:34 to play in the opening period. Altoona responded with the game's next ten points to tie the game 18-18 with 4:45 left in the second quarter. Facing a one-point deficit with time winding down in the session,
Breana Kendrick hit a layup with three seconds to go in the half to hand Mount Aloysius a 26-25 advantage at the break.
Mount Aloysius struggled from the field throughout the second half. As a team, the Mounties shot 11-for-48 in the third and fourth quarters combined. However, they relied on strong defense to keep themselves in the game. Despite their struggles, the Mounties were down just three points at 49-46 with 6:48 to play in the game after
Abbie Zinobile hit a jump shot. Altoona responded with the game's next five points and Mount Aloysius couldn't recover in the final minutes.
Zinobile led the Mounties with a double-double effort of 15 points and 10 rebounds, and also added two blocks on the defensive end.
Antwayne' Parks chipped in with nine points and six boards, and Kulick scored eight points in 23 minutes before departing due to injury.Â
The Mounties drop to 7-7 in conference play and 10-11 overall. They will return to the court on Saturday with a 3 p.m. home tipoff against D'Youville.
