Men's Soccer Suffers Narrow Loss at Marymount

Box Score
Arlington, VA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team fell victim to a second-half comeback by host Marymount University on Sunday afternoon as the Mounties were defeated 4-3 in a tight non-conference contest against the Saints.

The Mounties fell into a 1-0 hole just over 12 minutes into the contest, but responded strongly with two goals from senior forward Kevin Ouellette in a three-minute span. Ouellette tied things up after knocking in a beautiful cross from Molia Sesay in the 22nd minute, and less than three minutes later he scored after being played in over the top and beating the keeper.

The scoring continued as the Saints responded with an equalizer in the 30th minute to even the game at 2-2. Mount Aloysius then closed the first-half scoring and took the lead on a Graham Hunter goal with five minutes remaining in the period.

The back-and-forth affair continued as Marymount evened the game at 3-3 in the 55th minute of play. The two sides then traded scoring opportunities before the home side found a loose ball off of a corner kick and knocked in the eventual game winner with 17 minutes remaining. Todd Azeles had two chances at goal down the stretch, and his final opportunity on a free kick attempt sailed high.

Ouellette led the Mounties with three shots offensively, while goalkeeper Kyle Lachance made five saves.

The Mounties fall to 2-2 overall and return to the field on Wednesday for an away game at Albright at 7 p.m.
