Reading, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw against host Albright College on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
The Mounties and Lions staged a defensive battle early on as neither team could get much going in the final third. The two teams went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0, and the game's scoring didn't open up until the 76th minute when the Lions found a loose ball after a free kick and knocked it in for a 1-0 lead. However, the Mounties responded four minutes later.
Kevin Ouellette headed a ball down to
Thomas Sloan near the 30-yard line, who struck a shot from distance into the bottom corner to tie the game at 1-1. The goal was Sloan's fourth of the season.
The two sides remained tied and head into double overtime. Both found opportunties at goal in the game's final 20 minutes but couldn't convert.
Todd Azeles led the Mounties with three shots, and goalkeeper
Kyle Lachance stopped four shots on the evening.
The Mounties now stand at 2-2-1 on the season and will return to action on Sunday with a trip to Thiel for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
