Women's Tennis Edged by Altoona


Altoona, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's tennis team was edged in their opening conference contest of the season by a score of 5-4 against Penn State Altoona on Thursday afternoon.

The Mounties lost at #1 doubles, but Ericka Klavuhn and Katelynn Arnold won by a 9-7 scoreline at #2 doubles. Altoona took a 2-1 lead with a win at #3 doubles.

In singles play, the Mounties and Lions each won three games apiece. Klavuhn was victorious by a 6-3, 6-4 margin at #3 singles. Arnold won in a 11-9 tiebreaker at #4 doubles, and Mackenzie Roush took a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win at #5 singles. However, the Lions won at #1, #2 and #6 singles to take the team victory.

Mount Aloysius returns to action Saturday with an away match at Penn State Behrend at 1 p.m.
