Madison, NJ - Host Drew University raced past the Mount Aloysius men's basketball team by a final score of 117-59 on Monday afternoon in the Mounties final non-conference game of the season.
The Mounties led 9-4 five minutes into the contest after
Jourdan Lamberth drilled a three-point shot off of a pass from
Darryl Sanders. After Mount Aloysius took a 11-10 advantage a minute and a half later, the Rangers responded with a decisive 27-2 run that gave Drew a 37-13 advantage before
Troy Williams hit a layup with 5:09 remaining in the half. The home side continued to dominate and held a 51-16 lead at halftime on their way to the victory.
Lamberth paced the Mounties with 20 points as he hit four shots from behind the arc and went 6-for-8 at the free throw line while adding six rebounds.
Brian Reams scored nine points off the bench on the strength of a 6-for-6 showing at the free throw line, and
David Swatsworth scored seven points for Mount Aloysius.
The Mounties fall to 2-9 overall and will return to the court on Wednesday evening for a conference matchup at home against La Roche. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m.Â
