Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team made a late run in the second half but couldn't complete the comeback attempt at the Mounties fell by a final score of 82-77 on Wednesday evening against visiting Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC action.
The Mounties trailed 73-63 with 3:30 remaining in the ballgame.
Ryan Streets then came up big as he hit three-point shots on back-to-back possessions to cut the deficit to 73-69 with 2:43 left on the clock. After Pitt-Greensburg hit two free throws,
Chad Eisenhuth drilled a pull-up, three-point shot from the top of the key to make it a 75-72 ballgame. After a defensive stop,
Troy Williams was good on a putback layup to cut the lead to 75-74 with a minute to play. Greensburg immediately responded with a bucket to increase the lead to three.
Down 79-74, Eisenhuth hit another three-point attempt with 20 seconds left to decrease the Bobcat lead to two points. Greensburg hit two free throws, and the Mounties missed two shots from behind the arc on their next possession as the visitors held on for the win.
Eisenhuth scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Mounties. Streets recorded 15 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Williams had a strong game in the paint with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Darryl Sanders ended the game with 11 points and a team-high eight assists.

The Mounties fall to 3-8 in conference play and will return to the court on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff at home against Penn State Behrend.
