Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team lost to visiting Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 89-57 as the Lions shot 56.9 percent from the floor and were successful on 13 shots from behind the arc.
The Mounties led 7-5 early on after
Chad Eisenhuth hit a three-point attempt, and eventually took a 14-13 advantage with 13:32 to go in the first half after Eisenhuth drilled another shot from behind the three-point line. With 6:35 left in the opening half,
Brennan Garner was good on a layup to hand Mount Aloysius a 24-23 edge. Following the bucket, the Mounties went cold on the offensive end as the Lions went on a decisive 20-3 run to end the half to take a 43-27 lead into the break.
The Lions quickly increased their advantage in the opening stages of the second half, and the Mounties never got closer than the 16-point halftime deficit.
Brian Reams scored 11 points off the bench to lead the Mounties in the scoring column, while
Darryl Sanders and
Ryan Streets each added 10 points and three assists. Sanders also led the Mounties with six rebounds.
The Mounties will return to action on Wednesday with a trip to La Roche. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
