Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Hamburg, NY - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team won a pair of games over the weekend in New York as the Mounties defeated Hilbert by a final score of 6-0 on Saturday in conference play before winning by a 3-1 margin against non-conference opponent Alfred State on Sunday.

Despite a 19-5 advantage in first-half shots, the Mounties were only up 1-0 on a Kyle Marshall goal against Hilbert before exploding for five goals in the first 25 minutes of the second half of play. Jonathan Fernandez scored on a penalty kick to make it 2-0 before Joshua Devlin took a Graham Hunter pass and buried a shot from the center of the box to increase the lead to 3-0. Will Funez then scored two goals in a three-minute span to make it a 5-0 game before Christopher Godet slammed in a header off of a Devlin free kick with 20 minutes to play to cap the scoring.

The Mounties outshot the Hawks 42-12 for the game with goalkeeper James Eyre making seven saves to record the shutout.

In the Sunday victory, the Mounties started off slow and were down 1-0 when Godet scored his second goal of the weekend on a header off of a Funez corner kick to even the game 21 minutes into the contest. The two sides went to halftime deadlocked at 1-1. Mount Aloysius controlled possession throughout the second half and were finally rewarded with 10 minutes remaining when Funez scored off of a rebound. Funez then added his fourth goal of the weekend five minutes later when he got behind the Alfred backline for a goal that sealed the 3-1 victory.

Mount Aloysius held a 22-7 advantage in shots against Alfred State. Goalkeeper Allister Noronha picked up his second win of the season in goal while making four saves.

The Mounties are now 13-2-1 overall. The 13 wins break's the previous program record of 12 wins from the 2015 season. Mount Aloysius will host Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
