Bradford, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team put forth a dominant performance in a 6-0 victory over host Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.
Nine minutes into the contest,
Will Funez received a through ball from
Kyle Marshall and hit a left-footed shot into the bottom corner of the net to give the Mounties an early 1-0 advantage. Mount Aloysius continued to find opportunities on the offensive end and increased the lead to 2-0 midway through the hall when
Christopher Godet re-directed a
James Maddison set piece into the back of the net. The Mounties took a 2-0 lead into halftime after outshooting the Panthers by a 16-3 margin in the opening period.
In the second half, the Mounties scored three goals in the first 12 minutes courtesy of
Tevin Beadle.
Jonathan Fernandez and
Joshua Devlin that made it a 5-0 game in favor of the Mounties. Devlin capped the scoring with nine minutes to play when he scored his second goal of the game off of an assist from Funez.
The Mounties held a 30-8 advantage in shots and a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeeper
James Eyre notched the shutout making one save, while Devlin led the offensive attack with two goals and one assist.
Mount Aloysius takes the field on Tuesday with an away match at La Roche at 1 p.m.
