Winchester, VA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team trimmed a 17-point second half deficit to five but weren't able to complete the comeback in a 66-58 loss to host Shenandoah on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.

The Mounties fell behind 34-23 at halftime and trailed by a 53-36 margin with 12 minutes remaining in the game before starting a comeback. Mount Aloysius used a 16-6 run to cut the deficit to 59-52 after Josiah Jones hit a layup with 4:23 left in the game. At the 2:56 mark, Jones nailed a three-point attempt to make it a 60-55 ballgame. McErlane had a chance to cut the deficit to two points on the Mount's next possession but was off on a three-point attempt, and Shenandoah hit 3-of-4 free throw attempts in the final minute to secure the victory.
