Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team had three chances on its final possession to tie the ballgame but weren't able to connect as visiting Pitt-Greensburg escaped with a 73-70 conference victory over the Mounties on Wednesday evening.

Mount Aloysius got the ball back after Greensburg hit two free throws with 19 seconds left. With 12 seconds on the clock, Josiah Jones launched a three that missed. Tommy Pisula grabbed his first of three consecutive offensive rebounds and found Julian Stover, who missed a three-point attempt with Pisula corraling the rebound. Jones had one last look with three seconds left on the clock but his attempt hit the back rim.

Pisula was all over the glass throughout the contest as he finished with eight offensive rebounds and 15 total rebounds in addition to seven points. Stover scored 19 points and dished four assists off the bench while Jones registered 17 points and nine rebounds for the Mounties.

The Mounties took care of the ball with just three turnovers on the evening, while Pitt-Greensburg was forced in 12 turnovers. The Mounties held a 39-36 rebound advantage but shot just 19-for-61 (31.1 percent) from the field.

Mount Aloysius returns to the court on Saturday with a home conference matchup against Penn State Behrend at 1 p.m.
