Cabrera Named Head Men's Basketball Coach

Cresson, PA - Guillermo 'Will' Cabrera has been tabbed as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Mount Aloysius.

Prior to arriving at Mount Aloysius, Cabrera was assistant men's basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Lebanon Valley College for the past two seasons. His coaching and recruiting efforts helped lead the Flying Dutchmen to 32 wins and a pair of MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament appearances, and Lebanon Valley also earned an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament berth in 2015-2016. Cabrera has served past roles as Head Basketball Coach at Impact Preparatory and Hershey Christian and has also been an assistant coach at both Mansfield University and Messiah College.

Cabrera was born in Paraguay and spent his early years growing up and playing basketball in Bolivia. He graduated from Messiah with a bachelor's of science in human development and family education in 2006 and played three seasons for the Falcons after transferring from the NAIA's College of Notre Dame in California. Coach Cabrera has also spent several summers helping coach the Bolivian Men's National Basketball Team.

Looking forward to the arrival on campus of the new men's basketball coach, Athletic Director Ryan Smith reflected the anticipation of the entire Mount Aloysius College campus, "Coach Will Cabrera will bring fresh ideas and enthusiastic energy to the Mountie's basketball program. He will continue to encourage our student-athletes to live the Mercy values and to apply as much effort in the classroom and for the good of their community as they no doubt will on the court. We are proud to welcome Guillermo Cabrera to Mount Aloysius College."
